Descriptive Notes:
In the indices, the letter D is used both for Coins and
for Ladies; but in the numeral cards the suit precedes the number, in the court cards the figure precedes the suit; the iconography is similar to that of the "Faustina" deck (2.1.a and 2.1.b);
these cards are Maltese, as indicated by the Maltese crosses on the Kings' doublets and the coats of arms on the backs.
